Fahrenheit. dead.

The most entertaining, pure-hearted, fresh, and relatively ad-free (take a hint SD Reader) publication to ever hit the streets in San Diego has closed its doors. I thought that one-year anniversary issue seemed a little overly nostalgic, but it seemed more of a heralding rather than a farewell. Fahrenheit, what will I do without your “I Saw You“ page? I’ll never find that sexy junkie with the hole in her pants. Au revoir.

The rumors are true. Fahrenheit is dead. No more issues or movie screenings or parties or the self-indulgent literary adventures you loved to hate or hated to love. For those of you that loved us, we loved you too-and we made this magazine for you. Our main goal was to create a voice to prove that San Diego was not a cultural void-or maybe that it was a void but that with our combined goodwill and heart we could make it something bigger and better. Whether that happened or not remains to be seen. As I’m writing this, Fahrenheit has only been gone for five days. Perspective will come later-for you and for us. Maybe we changed something, maybe we didn’t. We’ll see.
