Lying in wait

After an overly-ambitious decision to compose a Higher Ground followup to “”the compooter incident“:http://compooter.org/2004/08/craptastic-SES-2004” (as my SEM friends have ever-so-cleverly named it), I spent considerable time reading and re-reading that article’s interesting comments.

This inevitably forced me to actually use this site and I began to realize the crappy state of its design and usability. So I began to look at compooter’s shortcomings: formatting of comments, archiving of articles, the lack of an adequate about page, flattened markup outline, poor accessibility… the list really goes on and on. I decided that a redesign was in order first and foremost.

Unfortunately, I’ve found myself stuck in a Bog of Development because Textpattern is currently in limbo. Seeing as this could be a major overhaul, I’d like to avoid having to hack TxP to expand its functionality, only having to undo or redo the changes once v1.0 is released.

Either way, expect at least something around here in the next month or two.
