Running at LiteSpeed

This site is officially (as far as I know) the first Textpattern site to run on LiteSpeed. No trickery, black magic, poking sticks, flaming death, or dancing bears were needed. Simply enough TextDrive chops to get it kickstarted old school style.
The move is a result of the recent unexpected spike in activity, combined with TextDrive’s curiosity to see if running a Textpattern site under LS was even possible. I gave Nate full license to use this domain as a guinea pig, and it worked magnificently. There are likely a few little gotchas here and there, but I’m sure they’ll be minor.
Unfortunately, it took a few hours longer than expected so we have no sexy infographics to show off LiteSpeed’s prowess (_yesterday’s traffic was nowhere even close to a slashdottting either_), but the site is remarkably faster and seems to be behaving a bit more like a nice neighbor.
Finally, something must also be said about TextDrive’s willingness to work through situations such as this. Most web hosting companies would shut down your site, hand you a bill, and point toward the door. Not TextDrive. Bravo!
Update: Clean urls are currently not working; it’s probably just a small virtual host config issue. Articles are still available in “messy” url mode (_http://compooter.org/?id=###_).
September 24, 2005: Yep, and all fixed.
September 24, 2005: D’oh. Spoke too soon. For some reason it keeps resetting itself and shutting off url rewriting for my virtual host (at least I think that’s what’s going on). A mystery that hopefully will soon be solved so there’ll be no more 404s :-/
September 25, 2005: Well, this site is all but useless at the moment. I apologize if there’s anything, particularly Textpattern plugins, you’re trying to find.
September 26, 2005: Phew! All working. Seems that it was a bug in LiteSpeed that has now been fixed.
